Just a place when I write about manga, anime, and sometimes, about my very deeply love for the japanese and celtic folklore.
about me Everything started when I was a cute and innocent child (?) that always loved celtic legends (Avalon, King Arthur, fairytales, the "true" dark fairytales, because in their origin most of fairytales were kind of depressing, people have to struggle and suffer before they could achieve happiness, if they could achieve it, and not the "they live happily ever after" thing) and always loved anime. I started watching anime with World Masterpiece Theatre, and then Sailor Moon, Dragon ball (the classics for those who are my age) and others. Then between finishing primary school and starting highschool I stopped watching anime, because of RL issues, and then I returned!!! And since then I tried to make up for the lost time, and it was then that I started reading manga properly. Ah! about shounen-ai,/yaoi it all started with Tokyo Babylon (CLAMP were my very first mangaka), and although I never really thought about homosexuality, by that time (I was about 13 when I discovered it *happy times*, and 15 when I could read it), but I loved it, and it didn't bother me at all, and so the fangirl was born! *evil laugh*
anime, manga, books... To me is kind of difficult to choose a favourite story among all of them, but I'll try to make a little list. PS: I love all CLAMP works so they are on a special CLAMP list. LOL Maybe this list is a bit biased because more recent titles easily come to mind, with some exceptions (like Umino Chika works, I love her~)
Favorite Anime: Escaflowne, Hagane no Renkinjutsushi, Mushishi, Hachimitsu to Clover, Toradora, Evangelion 2.22 (the movie is awesome), Haibane Renmei, Baccano, Juuni Kokki, Clannad ~after story~ ... Favorite Shounen Manga: Hagane no Renkinjutsushi, Pandora Hearts, Shingeki no Kyojin, Shiki (I love good settings, and good characters, that actually think) Favorite Seinen Manga: Yotsubato, 3gatsu no lion Favorite Jousei Manga: Saiyuki mainly Saiyuki Gaiden Favorite Shoujo Manga: Kare Kano, Cat Street Favorite Shounen-ai: Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike (I love this title so much) Favorite Yaoi: Sekai-Ichi Hatsukoi, Love Mode, Ze, Junjou (Fujiyama Hyouta), Ano Kado wo Magatta Tokoro, Yatteraneeze!, Doushitemo Furetakunai
I also love studio Ghibli, my favourite is Sen to Chihiro, but one of the most touching things I ever saw was Hotaru no Haka. I usually cry a lot, but I couldn't cry when I watched it. It's just too sad to cry. It was the first time I ever experienced something like that when reading/watching something.
On other note, I really love Key works. I never played anything, nor do I want to, but I love their anime adaptations, mainly, Clannad after story. And Maeda Jun is a great composer, his songs are very good.
About other interest, I really love reading (other things than manga) and I have a huge collection of books. I actually finished Genji Monogatari, it was interesting, although some parts were exasperating. My favourite is LOTR, I read it when I was 10 years old, and I still love it. Then we have Dragonlance series and lots of fantasy classics. I love Marion Zimmer Bradley works, and Juliet Marillier for obvious reasons, and nowadays I'm in love with Anne Bishop books, mainly the Dark Jewels Trilogy, Trudi Canavan… And many many others. Yep, I'm a fantasy freak and I'm proud of it, but I read other stuff too.
Almost forgot... Although I love anime and manga, I love Japan as a country too. Actually I started loving China, and then Japan, but nowadays Japan in my number one, mainly because of their history and folklore. I love folklore, and Japanese stories are very interesting, and curiously, we can find some connections with celtic stories settings, although their completely unrelated cultures...
